contemporary arts center addition
This project created a brand new display area for a fine art sculpture at the Contemporary Arts Center in Virginia Beach. This one-of-a-kind sculpture was a priceless addition to the Center's collection that has attracted thousands of visitors.
Project Details
MEB General Contractors constructed an addition to the existing facility for display of large Dale Chihuly glass sculpture. The project also included restrooms and other ancillary facilities as well as renovations to the existing mechanical systems. The building was conventionally constructed and exterior finishes included an ashlar stone veneer and the incorporation of split face CMU to match existing stone trim. Custom Azurlite Green glazing was installed as well as copper roof system, timber beam canopy and extensive landscaping. Interior finishes included custom, gloss black, linear metal ceiling baffles and other finishes appropriate for art exhibition.
