Phase 2 consisted of a 21,000 SF steel Fabrication Facility addition with a self-supporting 750-lb PSF steel reinforced concrete slab on 340 50-ft concrete piles, and twenty-six 120-ft 4-inch steel anchoring channels embedded in the concrete slab. The project also entailed a one story pre-engineered metal building with 40-foot eave height designed to withstand hurricane force winds of 110 MPH and facilitate two 50-ton bridge cranes spanning 70 ft, three 30-ton bridge cranes spanning 82 ft, two 10-ton bridge cranes on lower beams, and up to twenty-six two-ton jib cranes from column faces. The industrial Gas System included Acetylene, Argon, Carbon Dioxide, Oxygen and Compressed Air. MEB also added a 2,000 AMP section to the existing Switchgear, twelve 130-MBH Gas Fired Infrared Heaters, nine 25,000 CFM Supply Fans, and seven 25,000 CFM exhaust fans. Additionally, the project included 1,000 linear feet of 12-inch fire main and a subterranean BMP.
